It seems to me that this school year is flying by! Halloween has just past and I am beginning to think about Christmas!
Watch for information on the upcoming Winter Fundraiser with Growing Smiles - we are hosting our annual sale of winter greenery - poinsettias, outdoor arrangements, wreaths etc. Delivery will be in time for Christmas!
At our last Council Meeting we decided to trial a different time for our November 22nd meeting at 3:30pm. Join us in the Learning Commons - right after school! Child care for younger students and sibling will be provided in the gymnasium, supervised by Husky Leadership Students. Students who do not require supervision are welcome to play on the playground. We will provide the treats if you would give us a bit of your time!
Progress on our Outdoor Learning Space is progressing, all be it a bit slower than originally planned. To date, we have had the tin roof installed and benches & walls framed. Next steps include installation of soffit & fascia by Rhino Exteriors - date yet to be determined. We are working on securing the finishing materials for the benches and walls. Once that is completed, we can schedule installation.
Jen Angelstad is currently gathering donations to feed our staff during the upcoming Parent/Teacher Interview evenings on November 16th & 17th. Cash can be sent to the school in your student's agenda or etransfers can be sent to hotlunch_heritage@hotmail.com.
Council is still looking for a few more people to round out our amazing team! If you are interested in filling the role of Secretary, Vice-President or as a parent rep for your grade with both the School Council and Parent Association, please reach out to chair.hhsc@gmail.com. Time commitment is 1 hour meeting a month and maybe 2-3 hours through out the month to help with Council / Association work.
